Twisted Insecurities

(university FMP project)

This project was inspired and created to give a deeper emotional impact to viewers, to raise awareness of the insecurities occurring around the world and to notify people of the affects insecurities can have on the human mind through influences of media, bullying and illnesses.

Twisted Insecurities represent the internal feelings of the chosen types of insecurities that young females suffer or have encountered in their lives that affect them emotionally, mentally and physically. Such as reflecting on their own physical appearance, how they believe people perceive them or have perceived and commented on them in the past causing them to feel the way they do.

Words Scar

This insecurity represents the affects of bullying and how words can truly hurt, becoming an imprint in how an individual begins to perceive themselves.

" Sticks and stones may break your bones but words hurt just the same."

Weight is Just a Number

This insecurity represents negative body image and eating disorders and how media can influence individuals perception of body image to achieve  unrealistic goals.

" Girls are not born hating their bodies - we teach them to"

Beauty Mask

This insecurity represents the use of make-up or cosmetic enhancements to fix or hide an individual view of facial flaws.

" Make-up should never be used to hide yourself, it should be used to enhance your natural beauty"
